caramel salon

is committed to exceeding your expectations through our work and our service.

Convenient hours, client parking and an amazingly beautiful, sumptuous environment will make your visit to caramel memorable.

We promise to continue to live up to and exceed your expectations, always.

What are your hours of operation?
We are currently open from: 10-7 Tuesdays, 8am-10pm Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and 10-6 Saturdays and Sundays.

Do you have children's pricing?
As we always book on the hour, our pricing reflects an hourly minimum charge, therefore we bill a child's cut as we would an adult's.

Where do I park?

Clients of caramel salon can use the parking lot behind the salon. Access is from the alley east of Granville via 7th or 8th.
You can also find meter parking on virtually every side street in our area, and usually right in front of the salon on Granville. If you are meter parking, please make sure to put extra time on the meter in case we run late. We are not responsible for any parking violation fees you may incur while in the salon.

How do I get there from Burnaby/Downtown?
We are one block north of Granville and Broadway. From Burnaby, take Lougheed to Broadway, turn right on Granville and voila.
From downtown, take the Granville bridge, go up to 7th and you're there.

Do you take AMEX, CHEQUES, or U.S. CASH?
We accept everything but amex, cheques, traveler's cheques and US cash.

Do your stylists accept gratuities?
While tipping for good service may be customary, it is never expected. If you would like to leave something extra for your stylist or shampoo person, please be aware that gratuities cannot be left on credit cards. For us, the best thank you you can give us is to send in your friends, family and co-workers

What is you cancellation policy?
We require 24 hours notice when canceling or re-scheduling. Please respect our time as you would your doctor or dentist. We reserve the right to charge a fee of 50% of the original bill for cancellations within 4 hours of the appointment.

Can I bring my children?
Please avoid bringing children when you come to the salon unless they will be having a service done. Our floor space is very busy and is unsafe for kids.

I might be late.
We need as much time as possible to give you the attention you deserve. If you are going to be more than 10 minutes late, kindly call our desk to let them know.

I am getting a colour/perm. is there anything I should know?
If possible, don't shampoo on the day of your colour. This will decrease scalp sensitivity. If you are having highlights, feel free to shampoo. Please be sure to wear a removeable shirt on the day of your colour, as we cannot be held responsible for any discolouration of your clothing otherwise.

To help you to get as much out of your visit to the salon as possible, here are some things to consider.

Bring pictures- Pictures help us to understand exactly what you want and what you don't want. If you can't find a photo, try drawing it. Our goal is to give you what you want.

Arrive a little early- This gives you time to browse photos, relax and not feel rushed. If you didn't bring a picture, it will give you time to look.

Don't listen to negative opinions about your hair- So often, people leave the salon incredibly happy, only to call back the next day saying that "my friend thinks it should be more like this" or "less red" etc. Go with your gut, and if you love it, tell your friend that you think it's great. You deserve to wear your hair any way you want..

Don't colour on the day of an event- Sometimes your skin will slightly stain around your hairline but will always come off the first time you shampoo. Also you need to allow enough time for your colourist to do whatever it takes to make your hair look great, and sometimes we need to soften a tone or brighten a red, and this can take extra time. This is why you should always use a parkade on colour days, as your meter will always expire.

Never keep quiet if you don't like what we do- Tell us and we will almost always want to make it right for you. We truly want you to be happy with your hair and your experience. If we've messed up. please give us the opportunity to regain your trust. We can't make things better unless you tell us you're unhappy.
Please consider this:  If we do what you ask us to do and you decide you don't like it, it'll probably cost you to have it changed.

Wait until you have one inch of regrowth before re-highlighting- This allows us to minimize the risk of overlapping colour, the only real cause of breakage. Try a zig-zag parting and stop pulling your hair into a ponytail when getting rooty. It only makes it look worse when pulled back.

If you trust your stylist, buy the products they recommend- We want you to maintain your look at home, and you may not be able to achieve what we can without similar products. If you've spent time and money on a colour, make it last longer with what we suggest for you, and if you know where to find the same product less expensive, then by all means do it.

Make your appointments early- If you are always having a hard time getting in, it is probably time to prebook your appointments. Consider booking your next appointment when paying for your service. Most salons will call you the day before to remind you, and this way you will always have your ideal time.
